Research & development

In addition to carrying out routine analyses, LAD maintains a very active research and development program.
A dedicated organization, the Stop-Doping Foundation, has been created to help meet the substantial needs for funding in anti-doping research.

Research at LAD is carried out with the following objectives in mind:

• As a member of the University of Lausanne and of the Faculty of Medicine and Biology, LAD abides by the rules governing any academic institution, including carrying out research projects and scientific publications.
• LAD must adapt as rapidly as possible to new demands emanating from the World Anti-Doping Agency and prompted by the emergence of new doping substances in different sports disciplines.

Certain projects described in this section of the website have been completed, while others are still actively pursued.
