Equipment & technologies
As one of the leaders among all the anti-doping laboratories worldwide, LAD utilizes state of the art technologies and the most modern equipment.
Ever since the beginning of anti-doping analyses, gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has been the gold standard in detection technology. In the last ten years, anti-doping laboratories have introduced another technique called liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS). This technique is becoming increasingly more important in the fight against doping.
Both GC-MS and LC-MS are used primarily to analyze urine samples. The analysis of the blood matrix requires a completely different type of equipment which is commonly used in hospital laboratories.
As can be seen below, LAD scientists utilize a large number of devices needed not only in the context of LAD laboratory services but also for the different analyses carried out for research and development.
